The state- run telecom service provider BSNL has announced BSNL 144 Unlimited Plan and also joined the race with other telcos , which have already announced unlimited voice calling offers to compete with sensational new telecom operator Reliance Jio. Now BSNL announces the launch of a Rs 144 plan with similar features like rival telcos.
As we reported earlier, BSNL expected to launch such similar plan to take on reliance jio and other telcos to survive from extreme competition after Reliance jio’s entry.
Coming to the new 144 unlimited monthly plan, It offers unlimited local and STD calls to any network across the country. It also offers 300 MB of data. The validity would be six months.
Commenting on the launch BSNL Chairman and Managing Director Anupam Srivastava said,”with the new pack, calls are absolutely free and would be available for both pre-paid and post-paid customers”.
BSNL also taking up several initiatives including the launch of 4,400 WiFi hotspots across the country.
“We have 4,400 WIFI hotspots launched in the country wide. I think in Mahabalipuram near Chennai has a similar WiFi hotspots. Our immediate strategy is to expand this. In next one year, we will be having around 40,000 WiFi Hotspots across the country,” he said.
Besides the company had also obtained 2500 Mhz from Government of India for launching service in rural areas, he said, adding BSNL would unveil classic LTE (Long Term Evolution) spectrum in a phased manner.
BSNL has recently announced 0.75 percent incentive or discount on online or electronic payment. BSNL, in line with the government’s vision of making India cashless, requests its esteemed customers to join BSNL in our walk towards a cashless society,” BSNL said in a statement.
