There can be many reasons why you want to delete your Facebook account permanently? It can be your privacy issue or you are not interested in Facebook anymore.

Whatever the reasons are, you can simply come out of the Facebook life by following these simple steps. Here is how to delete FB account permanently.

How to delete FB account permanently?

If you are 100% sure to delete your Facebook account, then only follow these steps. Remember, deleting your Facebook account is a serious choice. It may impact your Friendships, Business contacts and Job prospects.

Once you are double sure to go ahead and delete your Facebook account, Follow these steps. Please keep in mind that you can’t access your account ever once it is deleted from Facebook.

Before proceeding, I strongly recommend you to download a copy of your data from Facebook. Here’s how you can download your information from your settings.

  • Click at the top right of any Facebook page and select Settings
  • Click Download a copy of your Facebook data at the bottom of General Account Settings
  • Click Start My Archive

The downloaded Data will have all your profile information and other valuable content. It is recommended to keep it secure and safely stored.

Now you are all set to delete your Facebook account permanently. If you want to delete with no option to recover just click the following link and select Delete my account option.

Once you have done this, people will not be able to see you on Facebook anymore. It may take up to 90 days for Facebook to completely remove all the posts pertaining to your account.

What is the Difference between Deleting and Deactivating Facebook Account?

If you choose to deactivate your Facebook account:

  • You can reactivate whenever you want.
  • People can’t see your timeline or search for you.
  • Some information may remain visible to others (example: messages you sent).

If you choose to delete your Facebook account:

  • You can’t regain access once it’s deleted.
  • Facebook will delay deletion a few days after it’s requested. A deletion request is cancelled if you log back into your Facebook account during this time.
  • It may take up to 90 days to delete data stored in backup systems. Your information isn’t accessible on Facebook during this time.
  • Some information, such as messaging history, isn’t stored in your account. This means friends may still have access to messages you sent after your account has been deleted.

How to deactivate Facebook account?

You can deactivate your account temporarily and choose to come back whenever you want to access again.

To deactivate your Facebook account:

  • Click account settings at the top right of any Facebook page from your web browser.
  • Select Settings.
  • Click General Settings in the left column.
  • Choose manage your account and then scroll down to click Deactivate your account.

In case you want to reactivate your Facebook account, all you need to do is to log in to your account with username and password. Your FB account will be LIVE again.

How to delete FB account permanently from mobile?

You can delete your account by following the same steps mentioned above from your Facebook mobile App, from ‘Settings’ menu.

You can delete your Facebook account permanently by following the steps mentioned in the post, however, it may take up to 90 days to completely delete your data by Facebook.
